Creation Myth Summary

Another word for "myth of creation" is called cosmogony, where in Greek, kosmos means "order", and genesis means "birth" explains a story of how the cosmos began and grew. A big factor of the topic for myths of creation was the Mesopotamians. They said that without them, none of this creation myths or even the creation of mankind and nature would have even occurred. In there history, they tended too believe in multiple gods such as the god of water(including ocean and sea), sky gods, earth gods, and the weapon of the sun god. Mesopotamians believe that it was their gods who basically started earth and they had their highest god who was named Marduk.

The whole meaning of creation in our lives, supposedly means that each persons birth is a story which somehow reveals something more about that person. Also, it is  said that the myth of creation has a lot of ties with the myths of origin due to both of them having to do with individualism. One main theory states that Even if god chooses too participate in the human experience, he/she must be born of a Maya, Mary, or an Isis, which stands for the living embodiment of Creation itself. The whole section of the Mesopotamian section talks about one of their oldest creation myths "When on high" which basically talks about the celebration of the high god Marduk as I mentioned before in the first paragraph.

Mesopotamians consisted of many gods such as the water god, the earth god ,the sky god, etc. The main point of all these gods were that it was believed that these gods all got together and attached each of their creations too make mankind and too create life itself. Therefore, Mesopotamians strongly believe that it was because of them that we have "creation" today and the crazy part is that they never mention Adam and Eve in their oldest creation myth "When on high".
