Oedipus
The myth of Oedipus also known as Oedipus the King, shares a main message of a mission or quest to find identity. Oedipus was left by his father too die at a young age and was later saved by another family. As Oedipus grows older, he runs into three men and ends up having an argument with them. Oedipus the kills all three men and one of the men is believed too be his father. He is rewarded for saving the city and is given the opportunity too marry the queen who ends up being his mom. This myth involves a lot of suspense, faith, and blindness. Once Oedipus ends up realizing that the person he killed was his father and the women he married was his mother the whole story becomes complete drama and Oedipus couldn't believe what he has done. This myth shows a lot of deeper messages than just Oedipus killing his father and marrying his mother such as lack of communication, dramatic series of events, and a lot of coincidences. One main message that I also included in my essay was that the main message also links a lot with multiple famous quotes such as "everything happens for a reason" and my favorite quote " dont judge a book by its cover". We are able too see all of this in the myth story and not only do we see it, but the amount of messages the myth shows allows us too learn new ways of thinking as well.
I agree about the deep messages about Oedipus and his messed up life because he killed his father and married his mother. Nobody knows what he went through or the pain he felt when he found out he unintentionally had kids with his wife, who was also his birth mother.
